How To Use Lensmeter for checking power of glasses

my optical shop.and  you can see  how to use lensmeter for checking power of glasses in optical shop.

• step1st.check the zero.is your machine is on  neutral zero position.

• place the glass in  machine particular stand as shown in pic
• 2. Turn axis and focus nobs so that the three small lines  or dots  circle are straight and focused see the no on dial where they clear the dots(i.e)if +3 than its sphere +3.0
• Write down the number. This is your sphere.
•  Turn the focus nob until the fat lines become focused, and look at the new number on the focus nob. The DIFFERENCE from your prior sphere value is the CYLINDER value. If you changed from +200 to +4.00, then your cylinder is +2.00(its called  compound no). If you changed from +1.00 to -2.00 then your cylinder is -3.0(no. like this called cross no). In other words, the cylinder can be a positive or negative number, depending upon the direction you have to turn the focus nob.
•  Check the degrees on the axis dial. This is your cylinder axis.
• where the  big lines and you axis lines    passing  in center of circle.the possible axis is 0 to 180 degree axis.remember. 
• in the spherical no the target clear on only one place and that is your result(ie)+3.00so  your result is +3.00 spherical
• but in cross or compound  target clear on two places.if it clear on zero on  first attempt and on +1 on 2nd  place than result is  +1 cylinder  and also note axis on the final  position  revolve the axis  dial (example of plano cyl).
• the internal axis line passed from center  of axis line.if axis are 90 then you write+1.cyl 90degree
• if the first target  is on +1 and 2nd  target clear on+2.0 so the no is+1.00/+1.00 with axis=as  shown(example of compound=sph+cyl NO.).
• if the first target clear on+1.00 and  the last one on -1.0 thanits an example of cross compound and NO=+1.00-2.00syl =axis given.
